Spaghetti Tacos

Spaghetti tacos (like in iCarly) are actually pretty good...

So Many People...

Today the world population hit seven billion people... according to my World Geography teacher.

ELMO SONGS!!

Elizabeth, remember that Elmo CD that we used to listen to when we were, like, seven?
I just found it an I'm reading the lyrics and I remember the melody to each and every song!
I don't know if that's normal or not... Haha!

And I Am...

It is Halloween.
And I am at home, about to do my English project.
I've never been trick-or-treating.
Nope. Never.

'Holy Humor!'

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan.
She asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and
bleeding, what would you do?"
A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up."

A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when
he was on the Ark ?"
"No," replied Johnny.
"How could he, with just two worms?"

The preacher's 5 year-old daughter noticed that her father always paused and bowed his head for a moment before starting his sermon.
One day, she asked him why. "Well, Honey," he began, proud that his daughter was so
observant of his messages.
"I'm asking the Lord to help me preach a good sermon."
"How come He doesn't answer it?" she asked.

When my daughter, Kelli, said her bedtime prayers, she would bless every family
member, every friend, and every animal (current and past).
For several weeks, after we had finished the nightly prayer, Kelli would say,
"and all girls."
This soon became part of her nightly routine, to include this closing.
Her mother's curiosity got the best of herself and she asked, "Kelli, why do you always add the
part about all girls?"
Her response: "Because everybody always finish their prayers by saying 'All Men'!"

Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother's house.
Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served.
When Little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away.
"Johnny! Please wait until we say our prayer," said his mother.
"I don't need to," the boy replied.
"Of course, you do!" his mother insisted.
"We always say a prayer before eating at our house."
"That's at our house."
Johnny explained.
"But this is Grandma's house and she knows how to cook.

Pit Orchestra and the Sound of Music Performance!

First, about the pit orchestra-- we don't get enough recognition.
Okay, Sam, I know what you're thinking-- "You guys are just extra people who didn't have talent for anything else and are taking up room in our changing rooms." Okay, quick thing-- your dressing room is the BAND hall. OUR room. We're just giving it to you cause you don't have a better place to change. (Not you, specifically, Sam. Don't get offended. I mean... like... everyone. Or everyone else.) And, like, Candle said, without us, there is no 'sound of music'. (Hahaha.) And to those who are dancing that one waltz and STILL don't appreciate the orchestra, well, guess what, without our music you don't have anything to dance to. Unless, of course, you want to sing it yourself.

The performance.
FUN.
And long.
But mostly fun.
The end... that feeling was like... whoa...
I love it.
It's what I live for.
Did you feel it, Jestar?
It was amazing.
And then I went out into the lobby where everyone else was. I went with my violin case so that people knew that I wasn't just a random person who came to watch.
We looked at the pictures on the computer... and some of them were hilarious! Rodd was being... well, herself, and saying, "I like that picture of me! Oh, look! Me! ME ME MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" (Well, no, she didn't really say that last part... but you get the point.) And when I told her that the song she sang, 'No Way to Stop It' was my favorite, she goes, "Yeah! I love all of my songs! Wait, it was your favorite??" I guess that last question was fair, cause apparently she's not a good singer. I think she's okay when she's on key.
I think Rice should have gotten a bigger part. Well... he's reaaally good at the part he has now...
It would just be awkward if he was Captain von Trapp, cause... yeah.
AND THEY PUT ME IN THE WRONG SPOT ON THE PROGRAM!! They put me in Second Violin. NO. I'm in FIRST VIOLIN. And it said that Happy's dad was in First Violin, but, no, he plays VIOLA.
But that's really okay, as long as they didn't leave me out.
Aaaaaaaaand I have to go practice violin now. It's 11:42. Eeeeeeeeh.
Play Week.

Dress Rehearsal

I wish I could say that tonight was the Final Dress Rehearsal, but it wasn't.
It was simply the dress rehearsal.
It was the usual until after dinner. (I didn't eat there-- I ate before I got there.) We were SUPPOSED to start rehearsal at 6:00, but for some reason they were being really, extremely slow so we had to wait.
Nikki, Skandie, Nemo (Mollipop's little brother) and I stood around the top of the staircase leading down into the orchestra pit. Nemo was complaining that everyone was poking his stomach, which really only made us poke it more...
Poor Nemo.
That's actually what Plard did. When Nemo told him, "Plard! Everyone's poking my stomach!" Plard said, "Aw, poor little Nemo!" and poked him right in the ribs.
Haha.
COMPLAINT--Nemo is taller than me!! Last time I saw him he was short!
Okay, anyways, when we started it was okay.
And then there were some bad things happening.
As in... Ty-Ty singing off-key, making the orchestra unable to accompany them for one song.
And... People forgetting lines. Especially Captain. He forgot a lot.
And... People missing cues.
We eventually got through with it... An hour late.

I probably bombed it.

Music Muzak MOOZAK

I got to the Sound of Music rehearsal as fast as I could, which was at 4:35.
It.
Is.
Fun.
Especially the breaks. (Of course.) But playing is fun, too, cause we're in this twelve-foot-deep pit. The only bad part is that we can't see the actors.
I like that since Joy and I are the only violinists, we get to play really loudly. Like one part in "Do-Re-Mi" where it tells us to play pianissimo in our parts, I thought, "Whatever, everyone else is playing loud" and made it fortissimo...
Not like it matters, cause after that I couldn't even hear myself...
During a break, when I was doing Nikki's hair just for fun, I didn't have a hairtie and I jokingly asked Jestar for one...
And he just takes one off him arm and hands it to me! I'm still trying to convince myself that this is normal...

OH! I have found that it is very amusing to squeeze Tippi's cheeks.

Sound of Music Rehearsal

Again, we had a Sound of Music rehearsal tonight.
We didn't go to the pit, but it was still fun.
We had this twenty minute break in which Hale told me something completely amusing and Mae licked and sucked on my arm because it supposedly smelled like garlic sauce. ???????
Then back to work.
We ended forty minutes early, after "My Favorite Things." That song actually sounded pretty great!
Nikki and I kind of walked around... And Ms. Murry got mad at us for being on the elevator. NOT MY IDEA!! Haha... really, though, it wasn't. It was fun doing that ninja roll... different story.
Well, it didn't really have a story. So, yeah.
Then Nikki used Plard's sticker-printing machine to make a sticky that said the "Missing In Action" thing for me. Then she peeled off the original "Lost Music" sticker and put my sticker up. She stuck the "Lost Music" thing on my arm, which Captain thought was amusing.
Speakin of Captain, I wonder if he's going to get a haircut. Cause that one haircut last year... Yeah, not good. I still laughing at that...

Pillow :(

My orchestra locker pillow isn't the same.
It smells funny.
It wasn't like that BEFORE I let Zachariah hug it for fifteen minutes...
Now I have to wash it. :(

Concert

Yeah. Concert. TERRIBLE.
Our orchestra is SOOOOOOO freaking unprofessional! I can't stand it at ALL!
The Concert Orchestra sounded like KINDERGARTENERS, the Philharmonic Orchestra sounded like dead geese, and our orchestra was plain old unprofessional.
There are my thoughts on it.

Okay.
So there's this girl, Leine, and her brother, Krest, whose mom is also Taiwanese and dad is American.
I was pointing her out to my mom, saying, "See that family? They're also half."
And, of course, my mom goes, "Annasophie! You KNOW her! Remember? She used to dance at my school!"
And then our moms run together and start talking... and Leine and I are like... "Ummmm... this is weird... But COOL!"
Leine and Krest look like twins, although Krest is two years older. And they look... not mixed. Well, more American that I am. They kinda have freckles, so it's weird.
Leine and I had this huge argument (not a mad argument, a fun one) about if I look full Asian or not.
I don't.
Do I?

Orchestra

Today I have a performance in the PAC.
Yup.
OH YEAH.
So today we had to get to school at 6:45 to play a concert for the faculty meeting, which was at, like, 8:00.
So... after that we had about an hour before school started, so I played Racket's violin and it. Was. Amazing.
And that's not even the best part-- Mrs. Violin said, "You know what, guys, I'm really not interested in rehearsing."
So the rest of the two or so hours we just played Ninja, played violins, and sat around and talked.
Oh, yeah, and when I was playing Submarine's violin, Racket gasped, took it, and started 'straightening' the bridge. And we're like, "NO! RACKET! DON'T BREAK THE STRINGS!" and he's all, "I won't! Calm down!" and then, what do you know, the E string pops.
It was one of those when-Nikki-broke-the-$200-lizard-cage moments. Then Submarine says, "You did not. Just. Do. That. You're going to have to pay for it!"
But, him being Racket, he had an extra string in his backpack.
So all is good.
Except for the concert.

Sound of MOOZAK!!

I had my first orch pit rehearsal for the SOM.
:D
FUN FUN FUN!!!!!
Except the fact that the orchestra isn't... that... great... and I got there an hour early on accident.
Yup.
We practiced for two hours or so in the band hall, then we moved to the orchestra pit for accompanying them for 'The Lonely Goatherd', which they're performing in elementary chapel tomorrow.
When I saw the cast on the stage in their pajama costumes ('The Lonely Goatherd' in the musical is where 'My Favorite Things' is), that was when I reaaaaaally wanted to be in the musical...
Princess and Happy were discussing this when he came down into the orchestra pit to talk to Happy.
I agree. He totally likes her!

PS-- Does anyone else think the word "goat herd" sounds like something else? Think, think, think! Or you can be lazy and look at what the picture of the day was today.
Once you're sure you get it, then think about this... "High on a hill was a lonely goatherd..."
I cracked up on that one... I think it's funny. Tell me if you think you get it. Or comment on what you think it is.
Now go and laugh about it. If you get it. And if you think it's funny. Which I do. ;) Maybe that's cause I'm immature...

Last of the Orchestra... Or Not?

Today was a little party celebrating our little orchestra (the one that was specifically created for that one event).
But our conductor wants it to go on...
Okay... This would work if we took to it the right way.
Which we may or may not be. I can't decide.
I'm not even sure whether I want to or not.
Cause I already have two orchestras... well, three now.
Four if I had made All-Region.
Five if this orchestra goes on.

Song!

I had to fill out a little questionnaire for a church thing, and when they asked my favorite song I was wondering whether to put in Testify to Love or be different and put in something like "Concerto IV for Two Violins, Opus 23978 by Vivaldi" or something. But then I had a better idea.
Now my questionnaire says...
PINK FLUFFY UNICORNS DANCING ON RAINBOWS!!!
I am proud.

Things to do in an Elevator

Grimace painfully while smacking your forehead and muttering, "Be quiet! I can't concentrate! STOP TALKING TO ME!!"
Ask if you can push the button for other people, but push the wrong ones.
Stand silently and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off.
Stare, grinning at another passenger for a while, and then announce, "I have new socks on."
Stand really close to someone, sniffing them occasionally.
Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say, "Hi Greg. How's your day been?"
Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce in horror, "You're one of THEM!" and back away slowly.

School Today

Today I thought we had a late start like we do every Thursday.
I got to school at the late start time, and when I walk into the orchestra hall, there's no one there. All there is is empty cases and chairs.
I look around for a note, and then realize that it's on the board. "Unpack, take your instruments, stands, and music to the cafeteria. Pronto!"
So I grab my music, get a stand, and take my violin out and run all the way to the cafeteria.
When I get there, I'm already twenty-five minutes late, and I took forever to find my seat, cause it was set up really weird.
And it didn't help that EVERYONE was staring at me.
Then after rehearsal, this really weird senior guy comes up in my face and makes this strange hissing sound. It was weird. It creeped me out. And then a few minutes later he walk back up to me and says, "OH. Sawwwwry!"
That was really... strange.
I'm trying to ignore this person.

Violiiiiiiiin

Five hours.
Violin.
Today.
Almost three of practice (30 of which were at someone else's house, 10 of which were at a violin shop, the rest at home) and two of orchestra.
So at orchestra I had a chair test. At first, this morning, I was really freaked out cause I knew I never had time to really practice the music. I practiced a lot... and did okay. I messed up, but probably did better than some people. I have it easy being in second violin... If I was in first, it would be one mistake and you're at the back.
I had this pretend All-Region thing with people from my teacher's studio... I think there was worse.
Then I had the owner of the violin shop put fine tuners on my violin. Yay! Then I borrowed one from them to play at my All-Region competition. It's a good one.
So, yeah.
Orchestra first thing tomorrow morning. Yay.

Whisker

My dad just stuck a cat whisker in my jacket.
I have questions.

So Stressed!

I'm sooo stressed right now...
I've already practiced violin for about three hours today and I'm still not ready...
I have a practice All-Region thing with students from my violin teacher (I'm going to humilate myself, cause I can't play the music as well as they can), plus I also have a chair test in orchestra, and then on Friday I have All-Region, which I WOULD have been prepared for if I didn't waste two months practicing All-State music, which I'm not even going to end up competing in.
PLEAAAAAAAASE pray for me... I really need all that I can get... I have to have it completely perfect and over-the-top by Friday, and right now it looks like that's not happening.

Hairbands!

These are AWESOME hair tie things! They're called Hair Evolution by Scunci. Actually, there are lots of 'Hair Evolution.' They're pretty much hairties except they are made out of rubber. There's a kind that's like a silly band, it has a shape, and you can tie up your hair with it. Then there's just the normal kind of hairtie, except it's made out of rubber. And then there's this kind, which is the best.

It's just this thick circle of squishiness that you tie a ponytail with, then it just kinda squeezes and stays up. I want them! Except they're really expensive...

Zacheriah

There's this kid in my orchestra named Zacheriah who is, well, this is gonna be awkward, but IS ADORABLE!!!
That was odd, cause he's like, a junior.
But he looks JUST like a human teddy bear!
Let me explain before you think I've gone crazy.
Number One. No, I don't like him.
There is no Number Two.
So, anyway, his hair is all... messed up all the time, and he's... well... how do you put this nicely?
Ummm... fat.
So it's this big, huge, round, chubby, high schooler (with glasses) playing a cello...
He's so weird...
But hilarious at the same time.
He's funny because of his weirdness.
Like at my other orchestra (the Monday night ones, which he's in, too) when he saw me, he goes all out and waves his bow around in the air like crazy at me.
I tried hiding behind my stand.
Nope, didn't work.
This kid has the heart of a five-year-old...
Like when in school orchestra someone was caught eating a snack, and the teacher totally pushed the weight on her and pressured her and made everyone look in her direction...
"You can't eat in here. NO eating in here. Do you hear me? Unless you bring enough for EVERYONE, you can NOT eat in here. Unless you bring enough for EVERYONE."
Aaaannndd... here is the time where Zacheriah says, "And I eat a LOT!"
So, yep, there's my little post on Zacheriah. And say bye-bye to him, cause I probably won't post anymore about him.
(Why'd I even post this, anyway?)

Quote

"I want to work at Subway, but I don't want to make sandwiches."

Sorry, kid. I don't think that's gonna happen.

Peaches

Ch1k3n and I went outside just not to throw rotten peaches (not to the squishy-rotten point). I took one to throw, and I chunked it across the yard, aiming for the compost. Instead, I missed by about ten yards and it crashed into tree branches. How do we know this? Birds came dashing out of the tree.
I went back, picked it up, and threw it again-- into the neighbor's yard!
Ch1k3n laughed, but then... he accidentally did the same thing!
You're welcome, neighbors... at least they're the nice neighbors who actually say hi to us.

Chicken-fried Platypus.

FACTS ABOUT BEARS!!!

Today Sam gave me the newest Facts About Bears, the Woods of Brent newspaper.
It was okay... I seriously think they shouldn't have done the color thing. They should either keep it all black and white, or all color. Half-and-half looks hideous.
I didn't specifically enjoy it.
It was nice reading it, though.

Dancing

Lovely dancing today, Sam.

Wedding

Today I went to a wedding for two people who were, like, 60 years old. Both of them had lost their spouses many years ago, I decided to get married.
It was... interesing.
I liked that it wasn't super formal, and it only lasted twenty minutes.

KLEENIX IS ON TV!!!!!!!!!!
I SEE HER MARCHING BAND ON MY TV!!!!!!!!! RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

Adobe Premier

Today I began my project on Avalon Star (the little girl across the street who can really sing) on Adobe Premier. It's soooo confusing... BUT AWESOME!!!!!!

Random Picture of the Day

THANK YOU SKANDIE for the gift card... which I used to get--
three headbands (plain, black metal to decorate)
a little tiny black hat and black feathers (for a headband)
a white flower/feather clip (could be used for a headband... a very large headband!)
two bottles of acrylic paint-- red and grey
and... I think that's it. I'm probably leaving something out, but I LOVE ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!
