Mission!!

So today I went on a mini mission trip that I originally didn't really want to go to.
Then I heard that it wasn't just for our church.
I immediately wanted to go.
After dance class we get to my church, and I'm about to be stuck in a group of all guys when Grizzly and Sam show up. So, yay, I get to be with them!!
Right before we leave, BoyMollipop (wait, didn't I already name him Captain? I'll call him that.) jumps on our bus. (We rode in the Woods of Brent bus!! Yay!)
So we drive all the way down to Seed-or-Park. The whole way there (or almost the whole way there, Maria (or, should I say, Maria Morin) was singing Sound of Music songs the whole way there.
Occasionally she would goof off and start singing really badly, then Captain would go "MARIA!" Yep, he didn't even have to look back to see who it was.
We stop in this random neighborhood. They sent us down in pairs (I was with Sam!) and gave us flyers that said where people could donate things for the wildfire victims.
Most of the people didn't even open their doors, so we just rolled up the paper and stuck it in their doors. The people who did just said, "Yeah, okay. Thanks!" Two people just kinda didn't really understand what we were doing and thought we were trying to sell stuff, so we left them.
Sam and I were almost out of papers when she spots a Woods of Brent sticker on a van.
Then we find a lady in her yard. She turns around, sees Sam, and says, "Hey, I know you!" and she looks at me and says, "I know who you are, too! You go to the Woods of Brent, don't you?"
And we're kinda like, "Yeah," and she says, "Well, I'm a Woods of Brent mother! I'm Alex George's mother."
ALEX GEORGE????? WE WALKED UP ON ALEX GEORGE'S HOUSE????????????
And so his mom, not knowing JUST HOW FAMOUS George is around the Woods of Brent kept talking, saying, "Oh, I'm just fixing up this deer head for my son, who has his own apartment," and told the story of how she got this metal deer head from someone and was fixing it up for George. "Yeah, you'll be able to say that you saw it first! He hasn't even seen it yet."
Then she said how Sky (George's cousin who was living with them) and Sam used to play a lot together when they were little. (Sam, do you remember any of this?)
So we left Alex George's house (I still kinda wish I went to the bathroom there... cause I kinda had to go.)
We ran out of flyers, and were walking back the direction we came from when we passed the George's house again. Sky was in her car, and we just kinda waved, and she waved back like, "What are you guys DOING in front of my house?"
Then we caught up with the bus and got on. Grizzly and her partner were lost, so we had to find her. I called her, but apparently I just have her home phone. Yep, not that useful.
When we found them, we drove to Sonic, where we all ordered drinks. We had a fun time watching Captain fail at trying to order a drink.
"Can I have a--"
"Captain, you have to speak up to the speaker."
"Oh. Ummm... What?"
"The speaker. Right here."
"Oh." *presses red button*
"NO!!!!! He's still there on the other side!"
"OH!!! Okay... Ummm..." *orders*
"Great job, Captain..."
Sam rolled up her little straw wrapper and named it Frederick. And then she threw him away!! :(
We got back on the bus and drove back to a different part of the neighborhood.
Apparently we were doing a smaller area, so Sam and I would do every other house on one side of the street, while Captain and Gardener would do the others. (According to Gardener... or was it Captain? We were "frolicking in the neighborhood" and we would "frolick" past them.)
So we "frolicked" (or, in other NORMAL words, we skipped houses) so we got all the streets done.
What I laughed so hard about once was when this dog (EVERYONE HAD DOGS!!!!!!!!) made this muttering sound, Sam imitated it. And it. Was. HILARIOUS! (Although Sam didn't really think so herself... she was busy trying to figure out why I was laughing so hard.)
And we got to this one house were someone on the inside couldn't seem to open the door. It was moving back and forth for about ten seconds before it finally opened.
Then when we ran out of flyers, Captain, Gardener, Sam, and I just stood around until we went to help other groups do their last flyers.
The bus came around again and we went back to my church, where we had dinner.
After dinner was a devotional. It was one of those open-ended ones, where people were supposed to "step up and share." That usually works out when it's just the high school from just our church is together, but most of our "strong speakers" weren't there. Then they did kind of the same things with songs, and there were still awkward silences, although not as many. I could hear where Maria was, because her voice is so distinct. I love her voice.
Afterwards, we went home... :(
Good day, good day!
