Drama!

FINALLY Nattles is memorizing her lines. And she's the main character.
Anyway, we had rehearsal today (and I picked out my costume) and Nattles and I added new blocking to the beginning.
I'm starting off sitting on my desk with my legs crossed on her desk and I'll be pretending to text. So when she gets upset/annoyed at me with the line "It's easy for you, maybe" she'll shove my legs off her desk.
Then before I say, "Stop it. It's too late to study now," while she's looking at her book, I'll kind of slide the book off her right hand and slam it on her left. But she makes a hilariously painful expression I can't stop laughing.

Random Post

Um... I just made a cake...
Nathan's playing at his band concert with his bib... (basically it's a piece of cloth that looks like a nice shirt when you put a formal coat thingy over it.)
And... I am going to visit Jestar and Skandar's blogs now.

TCSIT

Globe Room. GGGGGGGGGLOBE ROOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's amazing in person. I won't even explain. You're just filled with this... Feeling you get no where else.

Sam, I will show you this at TCSIT. *glares at Skandar*

Um... Jestar? Hello??

Jestar? Post, maybe?

Performance

So there was this performance celebrating the Chinese New Year (it's the year of the rabbit) and it. was. hectic.

First I had to sit in this room full of elderly Asians who just were sitting in their fold-up chairs, all facing forward, and eating. And staring at me. It got very uncomfortable, so I was glad when the little performance started. I had to, once again, to up to the front to motion the movements to my little minions, and they did pretty well. :) But that little tiny performance was only three dances, all little classes.

So then came the bigger performance, first half. Carebear, the other assistant, and I sat at the front again and motioned the movements to the minions again. Some did well, others...

The lion dancer team is getting worse every year. I think they lost their good people, cause they're just a group from the university.

The second half, where I performed in, started after the lion dance that seemed to last FOREVER.

My class completely failed on the dance we have red ribbons on. Argh.

And at the beginning of the second dance, my shoe gave out on me. Like the whole top part un-sewed itself. At the beginning.

Then came the yoyo. I am not even going to try to explain how the rest of the troop has no sense in performance at all. I mean, they didn't even get off on the right side of the stage. So every, except for me, was all clumped in the far right corner of the stage when they weren't 'on,' and they just were standing there, talking. Um?? And when they messed up they didn't get off like they were supposed to, but kept trying/failing and at the end we ran out of music. Wow.

I don't like our yoyo troop. Supposedly I'm grouped at the bottom, with Miss Shell. Who is nine years old.

But I'm the only one that practices during class. All the other people sit down and group around an iPhone or whatever. With what's in me, I could be one of the best, but I'm always overlooked and my teacher doesn't even know any more tricks than I do. Meaning I have to make up my own. My solo is something I made up. Well, I smashed two tricks together smoothly, but I guess that counts.

Anyway. What do I get? A Chinese red envelope with my least favorite flavor dum-dum, some cheap candy called, "Sassy Tarts" and two tickets. Two. Tickets. You can get two for one dollar. Even a tiny cookie costs four. *sigh*

Not a good day. NOT. A good day.

Postponed

The musical yesterday was postponed to Monday, which is the exact time I have orchestra. And it just so happens that this Monday is the chair test, which determines where you sit. If nothing works out, I have two choices- let the crew of the musical down and not go, or get last chair in the orchestra. *sigh*
At least we're having a performance today.

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

SNOW TODAY!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!
School called us at, like, 5:00 in the morning. I was so happy I didn't have to get up, cause I'm losing sleep due to musical practices lasting until 9:30.
So I slept in until 8:17 or so. And I looked out the window, and it was white-- except for the many blank grass spots.
Anyway, being the Texan I am, got all excited over it and woke Ch1k3n up. I said, "It's snowing!" and pulled open the curtains. And the front yard was nearly unrecognizable. I mean, it was like the pictures of a neighborhood on a Christmas card, minus the fireplaces by the window. His jaw dropped, then he playfully dropped, as if he fainted. Then he starting being all happy about the snow (I'm getting a little creeped out at this point) and he goes, "YOU WANT TO PLAY IN THE SNOW?!?!?!? no, wait, I'm still tired. Wait until I get up."
Right when I leave the hallway he's already up. So much for waiting.
But, then, as it often is with people his age, the excitement wore off as easily as it had come.
He took, like, only ten pictures outside then settled in front of the computer. And stayed there.
While my mom took me to the little frisbee-throwing place behind the park where there's a lot of hills.
There was so many dogs and people using all kinds of stuff to sled (including boogie boards, a wooden sled, and you'll laugh at this-- a laundry basket).
We had one of those sledding disks. It. Was. Fun. I won't even go through the details, cause experiences can't be read about, they can only be lived.
I even got my mom to sled! (Sam, can you imagine that?) She was half-screaming the whole way, although it was probably not even ten yards across. But it was fun and she went twice.
We trudged the way uphill back home...
And now we will begin to enjoy the "drink hot chocolate" part of a snow day.

Hopefully.

Musical Results

Last night was opening night, and it went AMAZING except for-
  • The many mistakes I made
  • One character didn't know his song (Yes, it was pitiful. But in my opinion he was one of the best actors.)
  • When the Baker left the cow and runs up the ramp like he was supposed to, the cow fell over. Which isn't supposed to happen. I don't know how he fixed it... But the orchestra was laughing silently.

Anyway, it was a pretty amazing show. It took about three hours. I got to bed at 11:45.

AND now, here we go again, to do it all over tonight. (Unless they cancel it because of the weather.)

Little amusing snippit- Ch1k3n stayed up until about 11:30 last night doing homework. And school was cancelled today. *clapclap*

Skandar's Blog

First, someone tell me when Skandar posts cause I just about explode when I see the 'epic fail' hands EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THE BLOG.
And is it just me, or is the picture glaring at you a little creepy? I mean, it's a really, really good picture, but quite... sudden.

TCSIT Results

I only have three TCSIT events.
Three.
THREE!!!!!!!!!
Art memory, Music memory, and Girl's Bible Reading. The first two were of default, cause only three people signed up, anyway, but I'm kinda happy about the Girl's Bible Reading cause, like, ten people, including Hale, signed up.
But I didn't make Prose Interp. They didn't even give me a chance, just chose little seventh graders.
Didn't make Poetry Interp either. Why did I even bother? Beat by little seventh graders, again.
Didn't make duets. Cause Deer didn't even make TCSIT.
So basically, except for Snickerz and Kale, the rest of the duets were seventh grade girls. AGAIN.
I'm not happy with this.
By the way, Sammy, congratulations on the Poetry Interpretation. Except the people you'll be stuck with...

MUSICAL BLISS!!!!!!

I. Love. MUSICAL PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!
Every day this week I'm having practice for the musical from 4:30 to 9:30. YAAAAAAAAAAAaAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So. Much. Fun!
Cause we get to play and listen/watch the acting people on stage.
Yesterday we ran through Act 1, no stopping, and it was one hour and seventeen minutes long!!!
By the way, more funny things happened. Such as-
  • Once more, shoes have been forgotten in the cow.
  • When they turn around the little house scene things in the beginning, Jack is supposed to be petting the cow, Milky White. But guess what? Milky White isn't even on the set. So Jack runs off to get her and the whole play starts without him.
  • When Milky White was supposed to die (Jack pushes it over to make it fall) all this dust and paint bits from the stage flew onto me. Not. Good.
  • In general, the person who plays the witch is a bit like Hale, so some of the movements are... well, interesting.
  • Dave. The pianist. Is, like, fifty years old, has round glasses that sit on the end of his nose, curly stick-out-at-back clown-looking hair, and the big belly. He cracks jokes that no one gets and seems to be a bit... insane, but is fun to be around. Like he has to make a 'gulp!' sound for the cow, and it's so hard not to laugh.
  • Random girl scouts came and went around and even stood on the stage. Uh huh, exactly where you should stand while, like, three characters have to sprint off that exit.

So, it's Musical Week. Performance times are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all around probably 7:00 pm... Although I doubt any of you want to see it... Still, though.

POST!!!!!!! (please...)

Sam. Skandar.
If you don't post something else.
I.
Will.
Explode.

Thank you very much.

Homecoming Court

So, yeah, you guys know the whole Homecoming thing.
Anyway.
I voted for Bretz and Tori...
Bretz is king (YAY!) and Lyss is queen. (Oh, well...)
But after, whenever they were playing the Cha-Cha Slide, Bretz was just all by himself. In the corner. Just- looking at everything happen. I mean, like, no one went to talk to him, really... He seemed so lonely. I would have gone over, but that would have been awkward, cause, first of all, the music was so loud you had to over-yell, second, he doesn't like Junior Highers, and third, considering the whole paper-ball incident, yeah...
I was disappointed. Kronkenator was a pretty bad bear. I mean all he did was just kind of walk around and stand by the cheerleaders.
And when Mrs. Murry found out that Ryce was the freshman-court-guy-thingy, her face turned red. Red. RED!!!!!!!! And she got all hyper, which, as you all know, is never good.

Costume Contests

The people chosen to win the costume contests aren't even... like, good. And it's not fair that Junior High people don't even get considered. Not that I had anything good, anyway.

Musical!

So we had another musical today, and I was there from 5pm to 8pm. (I had to miss part of it cause I had a flute lesson.) I'm really getting to like it. Funny things happen such as-
  • Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) sold his cow to the Baker and was getting all emotional, so he runs off the stage. But the actor, going full speed, tripped on an off-stage speaker, did a full flip, and landed, sprawled on his back. So the Baker stopped and said, "Um, are you okay?" then the Jack got up and limped over to the speaker, and said, "Yeah, but is the speaker okay?" So people had to work on the speaker for a while after that.
  • When the Baker was bringing the cow (fake and on wheels, by the way. The name of it is 'Milky White') on stage, he accidentally tipped it over, making a break in the script. Which was good, cause if that happened, they couldn't say their lines to the music, giving us a little break until we started up on it again. :(
  • The third time we were going through the second part of Act 1, the people forgot to take a shoe out of Milky White (don't ask) so when Jack had to tip over the cow (you weren't supposed to know it was him, cause it was supposed to 'die' on it's own) this random golden shoe dropped out of the cow.

I am having fun with this musical! (If you guys want to see it, just email me. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.)
