TCSIT Results
Three.
THREE!!!!!!!!!
Art memory, Music memory, and Girl's Bible Reading. The first two were of default, cause only three people signed up, anyway, but I'm kinda happy about the Girl's Bible Reading cause, like, ten people, including Hale, signed up.
But I didn't make Prose Interp. They didn't even give me a chance, just chose little seventh graders.
Didn't make Poetry Interp either. Why did I even bother? Beat by little seventh graders, again.
Didn't make duets. Cause Deer didn't even make TCSIT.
So basically, except for Snickerz and Kale, the rest of the duets were seventh grade girls. AGAIN.
I'm not happy with this.
By the way, Sammy, congratulations on the Poetry Interpretation. Except the people you'll be stuck with...
MUSICAL BLISS!!!!!!
Every day this week I'm having practice for the musical from 4:30 to 9:30. YAAAAAAAAAAAaAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So. Much. Fun!
Cause we get to play and listen/watch the acting people on stage.
Yesterday we ran through Act 1, no stopping, and it was one hour and seventeen minutes long!!!
By the way, more funny things happened. Such as-
- Once more, shoes have been forgotten in the cow.
- When they turn around the little house scene things in the beginning, Jack is supposed to be petting the cow, Milky White. But guess what? Milky White isn't even on the set. So Jack runs off to get her and the whole play starts without him.
- When Milky White was supposed to die (Jack pushes it over to make it fall) all this dust and paint bits from the stage flew onto me. Not. Good.
- In general, the person who plays the witch is a bit like Hale, so some of the movements are... well, interesting.
- Dave. The pianist. Is, like, fifty years old, has round glasses that sit on the end of his nose, curly stick-out-at-back clown-looking hair, and the big belly. He cracks jokes that no one gets and seems to be a bit... insane, but is fun to be around. Like he has to make a 'gulp!' sound for the cow, and it's so hard not to laugh.
- Random girl scouts came and went around and even stood on the stage. Uh huh, exactly where you should stand while, like, three characters have to sprint off that exit.
So, it's Musical Week. Performance times are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all around probably 7:00 pm... Although I doubt any of you want to see it... Still, though.

POST!!!!!!! (please...)
If you don't post something else.
I.
Will.
Explode.
Thank you very much.
Homecoming Court
Anyway.
I voted for Bretz and Tori...
Bretz is king (YAY!) and Lyss is queen. (Oh, well...)
But after, whenever they were playing the Cha-Cha Slide, Bretz was just all by himself. In the corner. Just- looking at everything happen. I mean, like, no one went to talk to him, really... He seemed so lonely. I would have gone over, but that would have been awkward, cause, first of all, the music was so loud you had to over-yell, second, he doesn't like Junior Highers, and third, considering the whole paper-ball incident, yeah...
I was disappointed. Kronkenator was a pretty bad bear. I mean all he did was just kind of walk around and stand by the cheerleaders.
And when Mrs. Murry found out that Ryce was the freshman-court-guy-thingy, her face turned red. Red. RED!!!!!!!! And she got all hyper, which, as you all know, is never good.

Musical!
- Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) sold his cow to the Baker and was getting all emotional, so he runs off the stage. But the actor, going full speed, tripped on an off-stage speaker, did a full flip, and landed, sprawled on his back. So the Baker stopped and said, "Um, are you okay?" then the Jack got up and limped over to the speaker, and said, "Yeah, but is the speaker okay?" So people had to work on the speaker for a while after that.
- When the Baker was bringing the cow (fake and on wheels, by the way. The name of it is 'Milky White') on stage, he accidentally tipped it over, making a break in the script. Which was good, cause if that happened, they couldn't say their lines to the music, giving us a little break until we started up on it again. :(
- The third time we were going through the second part of Act 1, the people forgot to take a shoe out of Milky White (don't ask) so when Jack had to tip over the cow (you weren't supposed to know it was him, cause it was supposed to 'die' on it's own) this random golden shoe dropped out of the cow.
I am having fun with this musical! (If you guys want to see it, just email me. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.)

Too---Much---Rehearsal...
The first two and a half hours directly after school at Henry High.
The next two hours were at orchestra, right after Henry.
I didn't get home until 9:30 ever since I left for school... Looooooong day...
Homecoming
I got a good costume for tomorrow (Tacky Tourists)-- all I had to do was raid my grandmother's closet!
Short post. Huh.
Anyway, bye!

Ending Speechy Thingy
My Little Munchkin's First Performance
Anyway, I missed a part, but no one could tell except for the kids who remembered. Oops. (They were doing the Jasmine Flower dance, just in case you were wondering, Sam.)
It was at this culture place where there was this other dance group, and guess who was dancing?
Guess?
Come on.
No, no... last guess... and no.
It was *drumroll, please...* Dominator. Yes. Dominator. Dancing.
IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sam, you should've been there.
Anyway, that's the end of the little tidbit about my little munchkins... Bye!

Henry High
Today was our first rehearsal. I am one of the two violins, the other one being my friend, Davey. We split the parts so that I play 2nd violin for the First Act and then I play 1st violin for the Second Act. Actually, we haven't counted the acts, so maybe there's three. I don't know, we'll get to that later.
Anyway.
Our friends, Mad (only cello) and Sair (only viola) make up the string quartet with us. And there are about ten select band instruments.
So we rehearsed a couple of songs (there are 72 in all!) with the cast. They sing loudly.
And when they say their lines, they talk to the rhythmn of our music. Which is difficult, but fun at the same time. I like it. And every once in a while there's something called a 'safety line' which is a measure you repeat over and over again until the actor says your cue, which is basically a line where you continue the music after that.
Anyway, we were playing, and all of a sudden, there's this solo. For me. And I've never played it before. And here we are, going almost full speed, everyone stops--
And it's my turn.
In front of ALLLLLL the cast and band members (all of which who are high schoolers except for Davey)...
So after realizing this, I play. It was easy, I mean, this music is just background stuff.
It was scary, though, I mean, everyone paying attention. It would have been a lot cooler if I actually KNEW it and the key signature wasn't all whacked up.
Anyway, after I finished and was still recovering from the shock of practically messing up in front of everyone, Davey turns to me and says, "That C was supposed to be flat."
Thank you. Thank you, Davey for making me feel better.
Then after about an hour the cast got to just sit on the edge of the stage. By the way, the orchestra (what they call the band and strings) is in the pit.
So the guy playing Jack comes up and sits behind Davey and I and said, "Yeah, we get to sit behind the violins! Party!"
Um, so that's how it went. Basically. Yeah.

TCSIT Duets
Mrs. C doesn't like her much now cause she still doesn't know her lines for the play. And she only signed up for 3 events.
One she hasn't heard back from, and the other she forgot. FORGOT? How do you forget what you sign up for??
And I'm thinking she didn't make the Bible Reading Tryouts...
Here my dreams are crushed.
-----------------------------------------------
I'm Mad, I'm Sick, I'm Tired... etc...
So I ddddddrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggg myself throught the entire day, including-
- Substituting for Paul in High School Band cause the other flutes can't play without getting lost within five seconds (sounds like my band) unless Paul's there. Or me. Maybe. I don't know, they don't seem to like me very much. Whatever.
- Sitting up in the locker room the entire PE cause I didn't feel good and it was a free day.
- Lifting 20 pounds five times (I know it doesn't seem like much but when you're sick it just about squeezes all the strength out of you) of paper and lifting them up on shelves. Lucky, huh, the day I get sick, the strenuous work. The first time I did it I had a heat stroke. Anyway. Basically, that was NOT good. At ALL.
So I FINALLY get to Drama, where I have been WAITING, almost sick the WHOLE DAY to have the rehearsal.
And guess what.
A ton of 7th graders didn't know we had practice. Meaning their parents would pick them up at 3:30.
So what does Mrs. C do?
She makes the practice last until 4.
FOUR!!!!!!!
That's a whole hour's worth of difference!
We didn't get anything done but carry desks to the stage and go through lines, which no one knew theirs.
When I could have been home by 10:00 in the morning, in bed. Or, better yet, not even GO to school today.
*sighs*

...a what?...
With high schoolers.
A long time ago.
Meaning we had to watch it on tape.
And whoever the cameraman was, they didn't do a great job.
It makes me wish that I got the part of Allie (main character) cause SOMEONE doesn't memorize their lines.
I'm the only 8th grader (besides Codez and Guineapig) on the stage. Guineapig doesn't count cause he's the teacher, chosen for the role because of his lack of emotion while acting.
Anyway.
We're supposed to be like a real classroom. But everyone else just sits there, staring at their scripts, blandly says their lines without looking up, and stares again.
Um... hello?
Acting isn't only about lines. It's about reactions, too!
Sorry. I complain to much.
BUT REALLY!!!!!

TCSIT
And I only for-sure have 1. Music Memory. Big whoopee.
Then again, only 3 people signed up for Art Memory, so I guess I'm in... but I haven't heard from it yet.
I just tried out for Girl's Bible Reading, but... There's, like, 10 others trying out. All of which are 7th graders, except for Haley. But Haley already is in ALL the events she signed up for.
Some coaches just pick the people they THINK will do well and don't give anyone else signed up a chance.
So I'm not in Modern Oratory, Prose Interpretation (which, by the way, I REALLY wanted to do), and Poetry Interpretation.
That's, like, half of my events I signed up for.
And if I don't make either Duet Acting (which is going downhill after Winter Break cause Deer forgot, like, all her lines) or Girl's Bible Reading, I'm probably not even going to TCSIT.
And all my 8th grade friends are getting into EVERY SINGLE EVENT they signed up for and are all bragging...
Mmph. :(
